ADUs, Tiny Houses - the same?

No. Definitely not


ADUs (accessory dwelling units, backyard bungalows, mini homes) are far more substantial.


Tiny houses are interesting; a concept that works in particular situations. They are temporary (most are trailers on wheels); they are more like an RV than a home.


ADUs are permanent structures, built to code, installed on foundations, approved by local government authorities.


In addition, tiny houses are a challenge to live in long term; they are very small and day to day tasks are often difficult.


ADUs are big enough to replicate a comfortable living environment most of us are used to.
